Most young red wines benefit from 30 to 60 minutes in a decanter. Older wines need only enough time to separate them from the sediment.
How do I clean a wine decanter?
Rinse with warm water straight after use. For stubborn stains, use decanter cleaning beads or a soft brush, avoid soap, which can leave a residue, and leave upside down to dry.
